3 Misconceptions About Fabric Laser Cuttng Machines

February 9, 2023 by BITO Writers

For decades embroidery and screen printing shops have produced finished products that were intricate and impressive. However, some designs that were multi-layered or extremely complex were either impossible to produce or added significant production time and cost to each piece. Production houses were safe for a while until trends, customer tastes and needs began to change. Over the last two decades, more and more embroidery and textile shops have brought in fabric laser cutting machines to improve their production time and expand their design offerings.

Yet even after 20 years, many shops are still hesitant to bring in laser cutting machines. For some shops, they are happy where they are and have no desire to expand beyond their current production levels. For those businesses looking to expand their offerings but don’t take the next step, most are influenced by the four common misconceptions circling laser cutters.

Cost

The first misconception about fabric and embroidery laser cutters is that they are too expensive. While it is true that many of these machines can cost upwards of 80k, many distributors including BITO provide financing for the embroidery laser cutting machines through third-party lenders which makes acquiring these machines accessible to large and small production companies alike. These machines are also investments in your business which will eventually pay for themselves several times over during their lifetime.

Too Complex

The next misconception is that the laser cutting machine is too complicated to bring into production. In actuality, utilizing and incorporating a multi-material laser cutter such as the nanoTek Z Galva is a seamless process because the Z Galva software works with almost all other industry files making it flexible enough to meet your design teams needs.

Takes Up Too Much Space

The third big misconception is space. There are some large laser cutters out there that make their overall footprint a serious set back for many small and even large shops that are limited on extra space. But with the stand up right design of the nanoTek Z Galva, footprint space is rarely an issues as the machines overall footprint is just 8 sq feet.
